Prague Social Europe Conference 2019: Social Cohesion in Digital Times

Praha již  potřetí hostila mezinárodní konferenci na vysoké úrovni o sociální Evropě, tentokrát s tématem Sociální soudržnost v době digitalizace. Prague Social Europe Conference je synonymem prostoru pro diskuzi o cestách k posílení evropské integrace v sociální oblasti.

Tento rok se konala 28. 2. – 1. 3. 2019 v Černínském paláci. Zaměřila se na kroky nezbytné k hladkému zvládnutí probíhajícího procesu digitalizace v programové i praktické rovině. Digitalizace zásadně proměňuje trh práce a vyžaduje modernizaci vzdělávacích a sociálních systémů. Implementace Evropského pilíře sociálních práv vyžaduje ucelený přístup, který sjednotí národní a evropské legislativy a přinese sociální práva a ochranu lidem v atypických a nových formách zaměstnání. Předmětem debaty bylo také zajištění finančních zdrojů Evropské unie a národních států, které umožní prosazení účinné sociální politiky v celé Evropě.

Hosty konference byli mj. László Andor, seniorní spolupracovník FEPS a bývalý evropský komisař, Sacha Garben, profesorka evropského práva na College of Europe, Björn Hacker z Univerzity pro Hospodářství a Techniku Berlín, rektorka Mendelovy univerzity v Brně Danuše Nerudová nebo viceprezident FEPS Uwe Optenhögel a předseda ČMKOS Josef Středula.

For the third time already, Prague has hosted a high-level international conference on social Europe, this time focused on Social cohesion in digital times. Prague Social Europe Conference is a unique platform for the debates on strengthening the European integration in social and labour policies.

This year, the conference took place 28th February – 1st March 2019 in Černín Palace. It focused on measures needed to handle the ongoing process of digitalization, both programmatically and practically. Digitalization brings fundamental changes to the labour market, requiring a modernization of educational and social systems. The implementation of the European Pillar of Social Rights requires a comprehensive approach, harmonizing national and European legislation and providing people in atypical and new forms of employment with social rights and protection. The debate explored the ways to secure additional financial resources both on European Union and nation state level, making it possible to pursue effective social policy Europe-wide.

The conference guests were, among others, László Andor, FEPS Senior Fellow and former European Commissioner, Sacha Garben, European Law professor at College of Europe, Björn Hacker, Hochschule für Technik und Wirtschaft Berlin (University of Applied Sciences Berlin), Danuše Nerudová, Rector of Mendel University in Brno, Uwe Optenhögel, FEPS  vice-president, Josef Středula, ČMKOS President, etc.
